We are thrilled to welcome you to our new website! We are Binc, an organisation passionate about creating a world where no one is left out. We are all different and we all want to belong. But society has a tendency to encourage sameness and reject difference. Exclusion of people who are different is a learned behaviour, not a natural one. Just think back to when you were a child. You didn’t treat kids in your class who had a disability any differently to anyone else, the disability was just part of who they were and you naturally adjusted, as required, to get things done. This concept of "Sameness" is perfectly reflected in this CBeebies video.
But as children get older, they change. Time and time again we hear stories of disabled teenagers being excluded from birthday parties, being teased or bullied, being left out. Classmates are encouraged to exclude by their parents. And often the individual’s own parents are complicit in the exclusion by allowing it to happen or apologising for their child’s disability. Binc rejects this exclusionary
society and strives to create a better world for all.
Because the world is better for everyone when no one is left out.
We focus on disability inclusion which - due to its broad, complex nature and the lack of substantial success to date - needs a new approach.
We have specifically chosen to engage with business. By doing this we touch the world’s consumers, the world’s employees, the world’s decision makers. We reach everyone.
We challenge the greatest brands and leaders of today and tomorrow to open their hearts and minds to this competitive opportunity. You’ve seen the numbers: achieving disability inclusion means significant returns in terms of enhanced reputation, access to new markets, plus acquisition and retention of talent. Because without inclusive business, society will never become inclusive.
With business, Binc will catalyse a global movement for change - a formula that has worked in the past for other global issues: the evolution of the “green movement” is a notable example.
But we can’t do it alone. Binc invites you to join us on our journey for change. Together we can make the world a better place for all.
Binc is not about giving disability politically-correct categories or labels, throwing a pity party or creating a handful of inspirational heroes. Binc is about celebrating that the one thing that makes us the same is that we are all different. Yes, we focus on disability inclusion, but our vision is so much more than this.
We believe if you achieve disability inclusion, you are on the road to reaching real equality and freedom for all.
@WeAreBinc. We are eleutheromaniacs.
The world will be a better place when we are all free to be ourselves.
